The tenth of October, 2010.  And it’s just past 10pm.

The number ten.  The decimal system.  Base ten numerical system.  The lowest centered triangular number.

Ten pins in bowling.  Ten fingers, ten toes.   Crabs and other crustaceans like shrimps and lobsters have ten legs.

Count to ten when you’re angry.  Wear a ten-gallon hat.  I wouldn’t touch that with a ten-foot pole.

The tenth muse.  Greek mythology has nine muses, the daughters of Zeus.  Sappho, the Greek poet of Lesbos, is referred to as the 10th.

Ten is the atomic number of neon.  The number of carbon atoms in decane, a hydrocarbon.  The number of hydrogen atoms in butane, a hydrocarbon.  The number of spacetime dimensions in some superstring theories.

Ten Commandments.  Ten days of Awe from Rosh HaShana to Yom Kippur.   Ten plagues in Egypt.  Ten lost tribes.  Ten adults needed to hold a prayer service.

A perfect score:  in the Olympics and many other comptetitions.

Led Zeppelin.  Ten Years Gone.
