Daily Mitzvah

Pretty straightforward today. I was able to give a donation to the Food for Life Association, a group that provides food for those in need, regardless of religion, race or gender.  It’s now the drive to help for the holidays.

They don’t come knocking on doors.  What they do is phone, and ask if someone can come to collect a donation.  They ask when would be convenient.  And they’re not pushy.   They gladly give full information about the organization and themselves.  The fellow who came by was an older man, who thanked me profusely.  He said times were hard for everyone these days, and it’s harder to receive donations the past couple of years than in the past.

Couldn’t give much, but even giving a little feels good.
